About A. Gagaridis
I am an international security and defense analyst specialized in the Indo-Pacific, but with expertise on Europe and the Middle East as well. I am trained in open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques and I have extensive experience in carrying out in-dept research and in writing policy-oriented reports.
Currently, I am Indo-Pacific Research Fellow at the Brussels-based Royal Higher Institute for Defence (RHID), where I focus on South Asia and India's action abroad.
Previously, I worked in Brussels at Cronos Europa, where I carried out OSINT investigations on online activities. Before that I was in Budapest, where I was responsible for real-time reporting of security and safety incidents at Everbridge.
I was also a member of The Counterterrorism Group (CTG), where I held the role of PACOM Team Leader and I was responsible for supervising and coordinating my team to deliver open-source intelligence reports on security issues in the Indo-Pacific, while also carrying out real-time monitoring and social-media investigations.
Before, I completed a Blue Book Traineeship at the European Commission within the Counter-Terrorism Unit (D.2) of the Directorate-General Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME), working on policy-related activities for countering the malicious use of drones.
I was also a contributor to Geopolitical Monitor. My analyses were often featured among the website's Top Stories, and have been quoted by other outlets and academic books.
I am fluent in Italian, English, and French; but I also have a good knowledge of Spanish and Greek as well as a basic proficiency in Japanese.
I hold a Master's degree in International Relations from Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium).
Previously, I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Parma (Italy).
