English – Information and Cookies Policy
Cookies are short text fragments (letters and / or numbers) allowing the server to memorize on the client (the browser) information to be re-used during the same visit to the website (session cookies) or later, even after several days (persistent cookies). Cookies are memorized by the browser on that specific device that is used (computer, tablet, smartphone) in accordance with the user’s preferences.
Similar technologies (like web beacons, transparent GIFs and all the local storage modes introduced with HTML5) are used to collect information on the user’s behaviour and on the utilization of services.
In the rest of this document cookies and similar technologies will simply be called by simply using the term “cookies”.
Types of cookies
According to their characteristics and their utilization, it is possible to distinguish different types of cookies:
Strictly necessary cookies. These are cookies that are indispensable for the proper functioning of the website strategikos.it and they are used to manage the working session and the client / server communication through the HTTP protocol. The lasting of cookies is strictly limited to that working session (they are erased once the browser is closed). For other details, see the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Session_ID
Analysis and performance cookies. They are cookies used to anonymously collect and analyze the data traffic and the site’s utilization. Such cookies, without identifying the user, allow for example to signal if the same user connects again in a later moment. They also allow to monitor the system and improve its performance and usability. These cookies can be deactivated without any loss of performance.
Profiling cookies. They are cookies used to identify (both anonymously and not) the preferences of the users and improve his navigation experience. The website strategikos.it does not use such kind of cookies.
Third Part cookies
When visiting a website, it is possible to receive cookies from the website itself (the “owner”) as well as from other entities (“third parties”). A notable example is that of the “social plug-ins” and links toward Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. These are parts of the visited page that are directly generated by such websites and integrated in the page of the hosting website. The most common usage of social plug-ins is to share contents on social networks.
The presence of such plug-ins implies the transmission of cookies from and to all the third-party websites. The usage of information collected by “third parties” happens in accordance with their respective cookies policies, to which you should refer. In order to grant a greater transparency and comfort, the links to the cookies policies of third-parties are listed below:

The website strategikos.it includes components that are transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Even in this case, these are third-party cookies that are collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the host website performance (so-called performance cookies).
Google Analytics utilizes “cookies” to anonymously collect and analyse information on the users’ behaviour regarding the use of the website strategikos.it (including the user’s IP address). Such information are collected by Google Analytics, that elaborates them in order to prepare reports for the webmaster of strategikos.it on the activities on the website itself. This website does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) the analysis instrument provided by Google for monitoring or collect personal identification data. Google does not associate the IP address to any other data owned by Google nor it tries to collect an IP address with the identity of a given user. Google may also transmit such information to third parties in the case this is compulsory under the terms of law or in the case third parties treat such data for Google.

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active until the browser is closed. Other cookies “survive” the browser’s closure and remain available for future visits by the user.
Similar cookies are called “persistent” and their duration is defined by the server when they are created. In some cases they have a pre-set expiration period, in other cases their duration is unlimited.
Strategikos.it does not use persistent cookies.
However, when visiting the pages of the strategikos.it website, it is possible to interact with cookies used by third parties that may create or modify permanent or profiling cookies.
Users can decide whether to accept or not cookies by modifying the browser settings.
Disabling third-party cookies does not compromise the performance in any way.
